How to Make A Cappuccino
Creating your own cappuccino at home is great. You're free to add anything you want and experiment in any way. What differentiates a cappuccino from a latte is the milk. Cappuccinos contain more foam on top. Here's your step-by-step guide to creating the perfect cappuccino in the comfort of your own kitchen:
What You'll Need
- A good espresso machine - We like the Rocket Giotto
- A good coffee grinder - We like the Mazzer Super Jolly
- Fresh coffee beans
- Milk steaming pitcher
- Milk (whole milk is best)
Step-by-Step Guide
- Grind your coffee beans - the finer the better
- Tamp - apply 30 pounds of pressure
- Pour your espresso shots
- Fill your milk steaming pitcher half way
- Insert your steam wand just below the surface of the milk. Aerate for 10 seconds or until the desired amount of foam is produced
- Submerge the steam wand further ands steam until 150 degrees is reached or you can't touch the pitcher anymore
- Tap the pitcher to destroy any excess bubbles
- Add your foamed milk to the center of the espresso.
- Top with foam
