Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer. However — if you're upgrading to a product of equal or higher value, return shipping and any restocking fee are waived entirely. That's what "free exchanges" actually means.

We want you to buy with zero hesitation. That means making the return process as simple as the purchase.

Step 01
Call or email us

Reach out to our Chicago team at 800-410-8867 or via email. Tell us what you want to return or exchange. We'll confirm eligibility and walk you through your options — including whether an upgrade might make more sense.

Step 02
Pack it up

Repack the machine in its original box with all original accessories and documentation. The better the condition it's returned in, the lower any applicable restocking fee — or none at all if you're upgrading.

Step 03
Ship & done

Ship your machine back to us fully-insured. Once we receive and inspect the machine, we process your refund or get your new machine on its way — typically within 2–3 business days of receipt.

Yes — all brand new espresso machines and grinders purchased from Cliff & Pebble are covered. This includes every brand we carry: Lelit, Rocket Espresso, Breville, Eureka, Turin, and all others. The policy does not apply to open-box or refurbished items, which have their own stated return windows.
If you return a machine and purchase a replacement of equal or greater value, we waive return shipping and the restocking fee. For example: you buy a Lelit Mara X and later decide you want the Bianca V3 — we cover the return costs. You simply pay the difference in price. This applies at any point within your 365-day window.
Yes. The whole point of a 365-day in-home trial is that you use it. We expect machines to have been operated. What matters is that it's returned in good working condition, in its original packaging, with all original accessories. Restocking fees account for any reasonable wear and condition — we'll always tell you the fee before you commit to a return.
For straight returns, return shipping is the customer's responsibility. For exchanges to a higher-value product, return shipping is waived. We'll coordinate the logistics either way — you won't be left figuring out how to ship a 40-pound espresso machine on your own. Call us and we'll walk you through it.
Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we process your refund within 2–3 business days. Depending on your bank or card issuer, the credit typically appears within 5–7 business days of processing. We'll email you confirmation when it's done.
That's a warranty matter, not a return. Every machine we sell comes with a minimum 2-year manufacturer warranty, and we carry that warranty through our team directly — meaning you call us, not the manufacturer.
