What’s Happening Right Now:

  • Tariff volatility continues. While the latest headlines focus on autos and semiconductors, the uncertainty bleeds into all imported goods — including espresso machines and grinders.

  • Supreme Court ruling pending. Depending on how the Court rules on presidential tariff powers, rates on Italian and European coffee equipment could rise suddenly — and with no warning.

  • Importers already hedging. Distributors are quietly adjusting orders ahead of possible increases. Once those costs hit the supply chain, retail prices will follow.


Why This Matters for Espresso Lovers:

  • Every machine and grinder we sell is imported — primarily from Italy. If tariffs expand or jump, prices will go up across the board.

  • Waiting could cost hundreds of dollars. Locking in a machine or grinder today means you’re paying pre-tariff pricing while it’s still available.

  • Stock is finite. If distributors hold back or adjust orders, availability will shrink. Some models may not return for months.

August 5th update - shipments are arriving (a bit delayed due to border congestion) and we're doing our best to absorb as much of the tariffs as possible. So far, only a few brands have been affected however more may change in the coming days. 

July 28th update - On July 27, 2025, U.S. President Trump and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen agreed to implement a 15% tariff on most EU exports to the U.S. (down from threats of up to 30%). Espresso machines and coffee grinders are not on the zero tariff list (airplane parts, etc) and will most likely see a price increase in the United States market.

Adjusting our sourcing and logistics

Absorbing added costs where possible
